Career Experience: With an impressive 20-year career in federal government service, Lady Scharita Lacey has honed her leadership skills in various capacities in budget, financial management, human capital, and organizational management. She spent 16 years working for the Department of Defense, contributing her expertise to the Air Force and Defense Logistics Agency Europe and Africa Command where she lived and worked in Europe. Currently, she works for the United States Congress, Government Accountability Office (GAO) Headquartered in Washington D.C overseeing IT infrastructure in the Budget, Acquisition and Contracting Group. Professional Affiliations: Federally Employed Women (FEW) National Org Member and former Vice President of the Philadelphia Chapter. American Society of Military Comptrollers Member. Contagious Connexion Global Network of Pastors, Churches and Leaders. Community Involvement: Lady Scharita Lacey is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She is the founder and visionary leader of the Miss Central State University Legacy Queens Organization, established in 2006, which supports and mentor’s past and present queens of the university. This organization also fosters alumni involvement and a continued sense of pride in their institution and provides scholarship and funding for incoming Queens programming and mentorship. In addition, she founded Ignite Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting parents and families of underserved children with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and life-threatening diseases.
